Children are the nation’s wealth. The nation is being built in the class room’. inspired by this feeling as well as the long cherished ambition of late Dr. S.Ramakrishnan and smt. Gnanammal Ramakrishnan invoking blessing of Lord Veeraraghava and Lord Vasseswarar, opened the school Gnana Vidyalaya at Tiruvallur in the year 1979. It was opened by the Hon’ble Education Minister Thiru. C. Aranganayagam, M.A.,B.L., with 270 tiny tots.
For the past 35 years under the able guidance of benevolent board of management led by Thiru. A. Lalu,Hon-Managing Trustee and Correspondent and the board of trustees, Dr. B. Premkumar, President, Mr. D. Kuppuswamy, Secretary, Mr. P.V.S. Shanmughan, Treasurer, Mr. K. kannappa Reddiyar, Mr. A. Murugan, Mr. K.T.S. Mugunthan, members. To add one more feather in the glory of the founder in the field of education, the management started a CBSE school at Old Tirupachur in the trust land on 8th June 2013. The new school, Dr. Ramakrishnan Memorial CBSE School was opened with 47 Twinkling by the Hon. Minister Thiru. B.V. Ramana,B.Sc.,D.Pharm., Dept. of Com.Tax and Registration. The kid’s park was opened by Hon. Dr.P. Venugopal,M.P., Prof. A. Kanakaraj, Chairman, Jaya Group of Educational Institution, unveild the portrait of Dr. S. Ramakrishnan and Smt. Gnanammal Ramakrishnan. Dr. K.C. Vasudevan, P.hd.,Chairman of Venkateswara College of Engg & Tech. Opened the class rooms. Thiruvallur Municipal Chairman Thiru. Commando A. Baskeran opened the smart classes. All the Board of Trustees and all other dignitaries of different wards of the society graced the function. Sum of Rs. 8 lakhs was spent on the purchase of smart class boards, 80 laks on building and infrastructure. School toppers were honoured with cash awards.
Endowment gift cheque of Rs. 10000/- was presented by Mr. N. Murari in the memory of his grandfather Thiru. D. Ethurasan, social worker for honouring the toppers in English subject in X and XII public examination every year.
The institution is managed strictly as per the rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu and Central Board of Secondary Education from time to time.
