DAWN OF DR. S. RAMAKRISHNAN MEMORIAL CBSE SCHOOL
Children are the nation's wealth. The nation is being built in the class room', inspired by this feeling as well as the long cherished ambition of late Dr. S.Ramakrishnan and smt. Gnanammal Ramakrishnan invoking blessing of Lord Veeraraghava and Lord Vasseswarar, opened the school Gnana Vidyalaya at Tiruvallur in the year 1979. It was opened by the Hon'ble Education Minister Thiru. C. Aranganayagam, M.A., B.L., with 270 tiny tots.
For the past 35 years under the able guidance of benevolent board of management led by Thiru. A. Lalu.Hon- Managing Trustee and Correspondent and the board of trustees, Dr. B. Premkumar, President, Mr. D. Kuppuswamy, Secretary, Mr.P.V.S. Shanmughan, Treasurer, Mr. K. kannappa Reddiyar, Mr. A. Murugan, Mr. K.T.S. Mugunthan, members. To add one more feather in the glory of the founder in the field of education, the management started a CBSE school at Old Tirupachur in the trust land on 8th June 2013. The new school, Dr.S. Ramakrishnan Memorial CBSE School was opened with 47 Twinkling by the Hon. Minister Thiru. B.V. Ramana, B.Sc., D.Pharm., Dept. of Com.Tax and Registration. The kid's park was opened by Hon. Dr.P. Venugopal, M.P., Prof. A. Kanakaraj, Chairman, Jaya Group of Educational Institution, unveild the portrait of Dr. S. Ramakrishnan and Smt. Gnanammal Ramakrishnan. Dr. K.C. Vasudevan, P.hd.,Chairman of Venkateswara College of Engg &Tech. Opened the class rooms. Thiruvallur Municipal Chairman Thiru. Commando A. Baskeran opened the smart classes. All the Board of Trustees and all other dignitaries of different wards of the society graced the function. Sum of Rs. 8 lakhs was spent on the purchase of smart class boards, 80 laks on building and infrastructure. School toppers were honoured with cash awards.
The institution is managed strictly as per the rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu and Central Board of Secondary Education from time to time.

TENTATIVE CALENDAR – CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT Classes I to VIII
School strictly implements " No homework policy " for classes I and II and stated this on its website The committee members visiting the school monthly once as per their turn. . They are the meeting the children and giving motivation, check their academic performance If it is needed , they are watching demo of the teachers If they found any defaulters in home work , the teachers are insisted to meet the parents and discuss about the problem of that particular student . The committee encourages the students in sports activities and their achievements by donating gifts and cash prizes. The committee members are very keen.

INFRASTRUCTURE Management has provided good facilities for the children by building shed in the kids park providing peaceful platform for the students - kg class rooms, primary classes & Computer Lab have been air-conditioned, toilets and compound wall were spacious ventilated class rooms. WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AND STAFF It has been a regular feature in DR. S. RAMAKRISHNAN MEMORIAL CBSE SCHOOL that workshops and seminars by eminent persons and national trainers were organized not only for teaching staff but also for our children. Some of the topics were given importance during this academic year were ‘personality development’, ‘positive thinking’, attitudes determines aptitudes’, key to success, leadership skills etc. COMPETITIONS Our students took part in various competitions organised by the school. They also won several prizes in the competitions held in other institutions and some are mentioned : Around 100 of our students participated in essay writing , drawing, Hand writing competitions which was conducted by National Educational development centre, Erode. Our students got I and II prizes in each category. Students were sent for Interschool competition which was conducted by D.R.B.C.C.C. Hindu college, Pattabiram our student got 1st prize. Tiruchy Srimaan trust has conducted classes for slogan, story telling, quiz and bhajans for our students in the summer vocations. THIRD GENERATION, Agaram Foundation aptitude academy conducted various competitions like drawing, talent search test, eassy writing and our students were able to win lot of prizes. FUNCTIONS,CELEBRATIONS,RALLY ETC… Junior Red Cross , NSS, Scout and Guides, interactive club of ROTARY CLUB, literary associations for Tamil, English , Science were inaugurated. Independence day, teachers day, perumtahlaivar kamaraj birthday as education development day, founder’s and co founder’s anniversary, Christmas, and pongal, vijayadasami , kolu celebration were organised in bifitting manner. Recently we celebrated kg project day, convocation and science exhibition in grand manner. EDUCATIONAL TOUR Tours are considered as part of education in DR. S. RAMAKRISHNAN MEMORIAL CBSE SCHOOL though it is not compulsory. The students from VI to VIII were taken to KISHKINTA & QUEENS LAND & M.G.M. Educational film show was organized by the education department and our children were enjoyed the show. PARENTS TEACHERS MEETING Parent teacher meetings common for all parents and guardians were convened. also parents meetings for LKG and VIII were also convened to find a solution to the problems faced by the children. WELFARE SCHEMES FOR STUDENTS Medical claim policies for students Fee exemption for the children of staff were offered Free training were given in ‘yoga & karate’ Free general medical check up and eye check up for all children were organized by the ROTARY CLUB of Tiruvallur. Also free dental check up for all students was conducted by the INDIRA DENTAL COLLEGE. Around 100 children are ready to thrill the audience with a variety of cultural programmes. They had taken just about a week’s time for rehearsals. The parents and guardians are requested to kindly stay and tuned to those programmes.
